The Mi’gmaq Wolastoqey Indigenous Fisheries Management Association is a not-for-profit organization bringing together the Micmac Nation of Gespeg, the Micmacs of Gesgapegiag and the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation. Created in 2012, its main areas of intervention are the conservation as well as the sustainable and collaborative management of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and its tributaries, the documentation and integration of indigenous knowledge as well as the diversification of fishing and aquaculture activities in its member communities.
