After supporting a Winnipeg Construction Association Training Project, First Nations entrepreneurs E.J. Fontaine and Eva Wilson-Fontaine identified a market gap. In 2006, they founded AMIK, Canada’s Original Indigenous Job Board, simplifying work placements between Indigenous job seekers and employers. Now a national leader in Indigenous Workforce Engagement & Training, AMIK uses innovative strategies to build strong partnerships and a stronger Indigenous future. Guided by the 7 Sacred Teachings—Love, Wisdom, Truth, Respect, Honesty, Humility, Courage—AMIK’s mission is to enhance Indigenous socio-economic participation. Services include Cultural Sensitivity Training, Recruitment & Retention, Smart Work Ethics Training, and access to the Indigenous Job Board.
